Which town handles the address
The County Clerk's town and district codes list "Bayport 500," "Sayville 500" and "ISLIP 500," and "Blue Point 200" beside "BROOKHAVEN 200." Each town publishes its own tax calendar, permits and wait lists, as the sections below show.
Tax bills and due dates
The Town of Islip's Receiver of Taxes page says the 2026-2027 tax year begins December 1, 2026, and that taxes become a lien on December 1 of each year. Its tax questions page says bills are mailed around the second week of December and that taxes are due in full on or before January 10. To avoid penalty, the first half is paid by January 10 and the second half by May 31. The penalty is 1% after January 10, rising by a point each month to 5% from May 11 to May 31, and anything unpaid after May 31 goes to the Suffolk County Comptroller.
The Town of Brookhaven's Receiver of Taxes page says the tax year runs December 1 to November 30, that an original bill arrives in mid-December, and that taxes may be paid in two installments. It lists penalties of 1% on January 10, 2% on February 10, 3% on March 10, 4% on April 10 and 5% on May 10, with May 31 as the last payment date. Its online portal shows school and library district taxes, assessed values and payment history on past bills.
Brookhaven's Finance page lists 2027 tentative and preliminary budgets and a budget timeline that says the adopted budget must be adopted by November 20.
Recreation cards and parking permits
Islip's Recreation Card page lists a resident card at $40, a non-resident card at $50 for use at Ronkonkoma Beach only, and validity of two calendar years from date of purchase. It asks for a New York State driver ID or non-driver photo ID and proof of residency, such as a utility bill or tax bill.
Brookhaven's parking page describes a virtual seasonal parking permit registered to one plate and valid at Town beaches, pools and marinas. For 2026 it lists $32 for the first resident vehicle. Proof of residency can be a current tax bill, a one-year lease or two utility bills.
Marina wait lists
The Town of Islip's boat slip wait list application says residents on the list must be the registered owner of the boat, with a copy of the boat registration. It names Brown's River East Side on Seaman Avenue and Homan Creek Dock on Paulanna Avenue in Bayport, and Brown's River West Side on River Road, Port O'Call Marina on Foster Avenue and West Avenue Dock on West Avenue in Sayville. The form footer reads "Updated 01/22."
Brookhaven's seasonal boat slips page says berth leases are only available to Town of Brookhaven residents, that the boating season begins on the second Saturday of May and ends on the first Sunday in November, and that renewals for current berth holders start in December and are due by February 1. Corey Creek Marina is in Blue Point.
